Rehabilitation Assistant Services

Sterling offers Rehabilitation Assistant Services that includes Rehabilitation Assistants who are fully trained at a recognized college as a Registered Rehabilitation Assistant. They work under the direction of an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist.

Our Rehabilitation Assistants assist with activities of daily living. They are skilled in demonstrating to residents, families and staff the use of prescribed treatments and adaptive devices, such as braces, wheelchairs, walkers, and other modified utensils. Rehabilitation Assistants work closely with our RCAs and assist with lifting, transferring and positioning of residents, maintain facility wide inventory of equipment, devices, and materials needed to improve a resident’s mobility. They help setup parallel bars, specialized splints and adaptive aids.

These professionals are invaluable for their ability to share information with team members and families about the residents’ progress in rehabilitation activities. They are an active member of the multi-disciplinary team contributing immeasurably to assessments, care planning and quality improvement of care for each resident.
